PREVENTION FIRST eLEARNING PROGRAMS

eLearning Brochure eLearning PowerPoint

Currently, New Jersey educators are required by statute to attend instruction on topics ranging from suicide prevention to substance abuse and child abuse. These workshops are normally delivered in school, during regular school hours, requiring attendance by all educators and a day off for students. To enhance its services to the County's school districts, Prevention First now provides web-based faculty in-service training to meet Department of Education mandates.

  • Guaranteed learning - faculty must take internal course quizzes to complete each course
  • Huge potential cost savings - pay one fee per district rather than hiring presenters for multiple sites.
  • Time savings - no need to cancel classes for faculty in-service.

Prevention First recognizes the increasing demands for professional, cost-effective and appropriate training for faculty and staff. Each course, in addition to responding to the mandates set forht by the State Department of Education, was designed specifically to support and maintain healthy and safe school communities.

The following courses are available:

  • Adolescents and Substance Abuse
  • Bullying, Harassment & Intimidation in Schools
  • Child Abuse: An Overview
  • Suicide Prevention and Education

When your district orders eLearning courses from Prevention First, you receive interactive,
up-to-date information for faculty and staff.

Our courses feature:

  • HTML based courses that are easy to use. All lessons are complete, with no pertinent information left out.
Above all, the courses are designed to allow your teachers and staff to learn at their own pace.
  • Delivery through a secure, web-based platform available anytime. Teachers/staff log on to a secure website
from anywhere within or outside the school system (based on district rules).
  • Custom reporting for each school district. Real time reports are available for administrators
to track course usage and read course evaluations.
  • Technical support for staff and administrators available at any time, with guaranteed response.

Prevention First will work with school districts to define any custom requirements inclusive of course selection, user definitions, generation of reports, and real-time access via the Web.

Prevention First will deliver an eLearning platform that can be easily and smoothly implemented in your school district.

Our agency has developed a “How To” guide that includes:

  • Program overview
  • Preparation for launch
  • Implementation
  • Follow-up
  • Technical support

The guide includes information on set-up requirements including hardware and software specifications, access and log on procedures and required installation of Adobe Flash Player version 9+. It will also assist in a faculty/staff notification system.
The guide also covers required pre-launch Q/A sessions in order to address any issues or concerns, the setting of clear timelines and expectations for training, and demos for district administrators.

At Prevention First, we are committed to assisting your district with your in-service requirement needs. With our eLearning courses, we are confident that your faculty and staff will gain the necessary information to maintain healty and safe school communities.
